Longview Unitarian Fellowship

Board Meeting Minutes

 

The meeting is called to order with the lighting of the chalice by President Mitchell.

 

Board Members Present: Huey Mitchell, Barbara Cavin, Tina Rushing, Jessica Noble, Betty Golding, and Peggy Nader.

 

Minutes of April Meeting:

 

Minutes were approved with the correction that the budget/pledge deficit with the proposed budget will be $279 monthly.

 

Ongoing Business

 

Banner: Marolen Mullinax now has the banner design and will explore having a sign company make the banner.

 

Building Use Fee: On hold until policy committee can recommend policies regarding building use and fees.

 

Nominating Committee: Proposed the following slate of officers for 2006/2007:

Huey Mitchell President, Tina Rushing VP, Secretary Holley Carlson, Treasurer Gayle Heard, at large members Betty Golding, Jessica Noble, and Janet Parker. * Board approved this slate.

 

R.E. Classroom: no bid yet from contractor.

 

Budget: See attached report of budget. Final payment for the “kitchen” was made this month.

Building insurance was paid as other large expense. Proposed budget attached and will be presented at the congregational meeting on May 21. *Board approved present treasurer’s report and approved proposed budget.

Note current record of pledges for the coming budget year stands at $1825per month.

 

New Business:

 

Congregational Meeting set for May 21, 2006.

Proposed bylaws changes to be voted on. Bylaws changes will be sent via e-mail to congregants.

 

Proposed budget to be circulated.

 

Chalice Lighters grant: No news yet.
